Post

Route8-18 yd

Vertical 8 yards (stem) then a SHARP 45°-above-horizontal break inside toward the goalpost / middle of the field, ball arriving around 11 yards (route tree #8). Beats single-high (Cover 1, Cover 3) when the safety bites, and beats Cover 2 between the safeties. Pair with a deep crosser to clear the safety. **Lowered 2026-05-25 from a 11-yd-break / 15-yd-catch default** so the route fits flag football's shorter field horizons; concepts that need a true deep post (Levels, Y-Cross, etc.) still get the longer shape by setting `depthYds` explicitly (14-18).

QX

Demo rendered on @X (outside WR) at 13yd depth. Only the route runner and the QB are shown so the break stays the focus; the same route family scales to any depth a play calls for, and concepts that use this route may set a different depth.

How to run it

plant hard at the break, separate from the safety.

Reading it by coverage

How to run the post against what the defense shows.

Cover 1:
vs single-high — split the safety and the post-safety corner; ball over the back shoulder.
Cover 2:
splits the safeties — throw into the deep void between the two halves.
Cover 3:
splits the FS and the deep third corner — back-shoulder window.
Tampa 2:
shot vs the MLB's deep drop — split the safeties.
Man:
vs man — sell vertical, plant inside at the break.
