Cover 3 — The flats — four underneath defenders can't cover all five underneath zones (curl-flat / slant-flat)

Modern shot play vs single-high coverage — the seam pulls the safety, the dig hits the soft spot the safety vacated.
Hold the middle safety with the Seam before hitching to the Dig.
Vs Cover 3, aim the Dig behind the hook defenders and in front of the free safety; vs man, give the Dig room with a reduced split and a clean outside release.
Add a check-down when the defense shows pressure and shorten both routes together on smaller fields.
