Three levels to the right sideline — corner over out over flat — with the line in slide protection. One defender can't cover two of them.
Primary reads (read the strong-side flat defender, high to low)
- 1st read (): corner at 14 yards — throw it when the deep third vacates or the safety stays in the middle
- 2nd read (): out at 8 yards — the money throw when the corner sinks under
- 3rd read (): flat at 4 yards — the back swings right; take the free yards when both defenders carry deep
- Hot (): drag at 3 yards crossing toward the flood — first look vs blitz
Situational use
- 3rd-and-4 through 3rd-and-8 — the out at 8 converts the sticks
- Off a run-heavy series: once the linebackers start jumping downhill, the drag and out windows open up
Coverage key
- Cover 3: the flat defender is stressed most — or comes open
- Cover 2: hold the deep half with , then throw behind the squat corner
- 's go at 18 keeps the backside honest — alert the one-on-one if they roll to the flood
